2/28 Incident

Disclaimer: UMCP TASA does not like to get involved with political debates. UMCP TASA supports no political party.

Okay, disclaimer over. Despite that, I want to bring light to the 2/28 incident. It's a highly political event that happened in 2/28/1947, when a cigarette vendor was arrested by the KMT. That then led to the "White Terror" era of Taiwan and martial law, until 1987.

The 2/28 incident was kept quiet until 1995.

Thousands of people in between the years of 1947 and 1987 were arrested or executed for political dissent.

While today the 2/28 Incident still a very political issue, past genocide is not to be ignored. Get educated.
